Since the age of 15 Alex has been the first violinist of the Doric String Quartet. He performs as a recitalist and concerto soloist all over the world.

The Quartet’s CDs of Haydn string quartets on the Wigmore Hall Live label received critical acclaim and their recording of the Schumann Quartets was chosen as Recording of the Month by both Gramophone Magazine and BBC Music Magazine.
