The Musician
Kate Gould
Kate has devoted most of her career to chamber music, previously as a member of the Leopold String Trio and now the London Bridge Trio, with violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen and pianist Daniel Tong. The trio appears at Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, Kings Place, The Castle Hotel, Taunton and the Honeymead Festival in Somerset. Its recording of the Dvorak Piano Quartets was released on the Champs Hill label.
In April 2008, Kate co-founded the hugely successful Winchester Chamber Music Festival in her hometown, featuring the London Bridge Trio each year alongside international guest artists. She also co-founded the Ironstone Chamber Music Festival, North Oxfordshire, in 2011 with her sister, COE violinist Lucy Gould.
Kate plays a Carlo-Guiseppe Testore cello of 1711. The purchase of this instrument was made possible through the Kate Gould Cello Trust, put together and managed by the Stradivari Trust.
