Zoë Beyers invites you to join her in The Music Room

For music lovers of all kinds and ages to enjoy, The Music Room has been specially curated by Zoë Beyers, one of the UK’s most versatile violinists. She plays a fine Italian violin by Alessandro Mezadri c 1700, for which we are raising funds.
These ‘conversations about music’, featuring eminent composers, performers and conductors, is a series of twelve programmes about the music of today and tomorrow specially created for Shropshire Music Trust, with participants talking with Zoë about their lives in music. Some of the artists taking part are distinguished composers Judith Weir CBE and Nigel Osborne MBE, who is also involved in music therapy, polymath Matthew Sharp (cellist, opera singer and actor!), Catherine Arlidge MBE of The Stringcredibles – violinist, presenter and educator, and young international conductor Ben Gernon who hails from Newport, Shropshire, amongst many others. It promises to be an exciting and entertaining series, providing some fascinating insights, beguiling stories and new perspectives including one from the English Symphony Orchestra’s principal conductor Kenneth Woods, who is also an acclaimed cellist and writer.

The conversations will be broadcast via YouTube and Vimeo on Fridays at 7.30pm until the end of November. For more details about the project and to find out how to join in, see here.

The series has been funded by Arts Council of England emergency Covid funds and is supported by Shropshire Council.
